My journey in education began in 2011 when I started teaching secondary English in Memphis, Tennessee. From the very start, I was driven by a deep passion for supporting every child and ensuring that all students, regardless of their background, had access to high-quality education. Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with diverse groups of students and educators, each experience reinforcing my belief in the power of education to transform lives.

Throughout my career, I have been committed to equity and excellence in education, both in materials and instruction. I have advocated for universal access to high-quality standards, assessments, and postsecondary options, believing that every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, and understanding that success may look different from person to person.

As a consultant and founder, I help school leaders make sense of the science behind best educational practices. I created Brilliant Horizons to help realize a vision: that all students have access to educational support that is personalized, research-based, and accessible, and a learning environment where students feel ready and excited to take each step on their educational journey.

My commitment to education extends beyond the classroom. I am actively involved in my community, currently serving as the Vice President of Communications on the board of the Friends of the Cozby Library in Coppell, Texas, and participating in various professional organizations. As a busy, working mom of a UTK-bound daughter, a son in dual-language kindergarten, and a feisty preschooler ready to follow her sister to college, I also like to take time to garden and bake sourdough bread. I find joy in cultivating growth in my children, my garden, and in the educational journeys of the students I reach both directly and indirectly. My personal life experiences have enriched my understanding of the challenges and opportunities in education, and they inspire me to continue working towards a brighter future for all students.

I am guided by the principles of collaboration and community, as I believe that working together in pursuit of a common goal is the key to achieving lasting change. I firmly believe that together, we can create a world where every student has the opportunity to thrive.
